Got recently an email from the top UK Shorttrack rider Peter Boast. Thought you'd also like to know what's going on!

Here it is about!

THREE EXCITING MEETINGS COMING UP FOR FLAT TRACK RACING

UK's Flat Track Racing is hotting up for some great mid season action, with three different disciplines of Flat Track, Shorttrack, TT and 1/2 mile action.

On Sunday 17th July, Flat Track racing comes to brand new Stadium at Leicester, which will host Round 4 of the 2011 Pozzani Grand National UK Championship. The Stadium was only completed in April 320 meters Shorttrack with banked corners and 1000 seater grandstands. H.M. Plant Honda rider Aidan Collins, who currently leads the 2011 Championship, will team up with his father Les, who was a legend at Leicester Speedway in the 80's and will also be riding a Honda. Collins will have tough international competition from Aussie Stars Tyson Nelson and Kevin Doolan also Itals Jacopo Monti.

On Saturday evening 30th July, Norfolk Arena will be holding the only TT event in the UK Calendar. In the USA Flat Track racing TT events are run not only left hand bends but right and bends as well and include jumps. We would call that Supermoto over here but the difference is that we still run no front brake, which makes for more action backing it in.

On Saturday evening 6th August, the fastest Flat Track meeting ever seen in the UK will take place. It will be held at the largest Horse Trotting Track in Great Britain, at the Tir Prince International All Stars Flat Track Meeting. With wide open bends, we are anticipating lap times to be close to 100mph! The track is positioned in a busy holiday area near Rhyl, North Wales, so we are expecting a large crowd. There will be Flat Track races from all over the world Competing and  guest riders from other motorcycle disciplines, including the TT and TV star Guy Martin.

Thank you to our Sponsors, Pozzani Water Filters, Silkolene Oils, Celitbero Racing Components, Redmax, Maxxis, Hagon Shocks, Arrow Engineering and Helmets 4u.

Silverstone

Amazing track, great atmosphere and thrilling races.

The Celtibero rider Jacopo Monti started the Silverstone race series pretty well, fighting among the quickest flattrackers from UK, Italy and even Australia, and qualifying himself for the Big Final. Unfortunately, an unexpected broken exhaust down pipe on the Celtibero Rotax Circle-F forced him to ride the final round with an alternative bike. Thanks to the Co-Built guys for their help though!

Congratulations to the australian rider Tyson Nelson who first saw the chequered flag, followed by UK's number one Aidan Collins and Richard Mason.

Congrats also to Tom Neave, who won the GNC Arrow Junior!

See you again in two weeks at the South Wales track!

Celtibero Racing Components Team ready to line up for the first run at the UK Shorttrack Champioship 2011. See you in Oxford!

After hard and meticulous mechanical work rebuilding the base bike, engineering and tests on our low inertia Celtibero Racing Components, comings and goings from test bench to test bench, from test track to workshop and back to make sure our parts work out as good as we target, this along with lots of great support from friends and family (thanks Jan-Willem for the beautiful head work), we can't wait any longer and go now racing.

Upper engine mounts made of Olimunllum®

If you love riding like we do, you know how hard the waiting can be until you fire up the engine, select first gear and start rolling. Finnaly ready for the track! Last week we went to Jacopo's and Ulde's beautifully shaped and very technical training track in Novara, Northwest Italy, for a first real roll out. Jacopo, very fit and critical as I have never seen him before, welcomes the great power at high revs, the ability to pull the gears over 10'000 engine rpm and the light and nimble frame. He starts tighting corner lines and sliding as deep as he points, which looks like a game when you watch from the wall, scares you when you observe it close at the corner entry, and don't believe when you see it on pictures.

And here a back view!

Thankfully, little issues came up, like a fuel-tank cracke, a leak in one fork, and wrong mounting clearances between our own silencer and the swingarm, but, hey! we didn't even had to make a single adjustment on the suspension.

Jacopo Monti. Testing in Novara, Italy

So now, 2 further crazy days sorting last details, organizing logistics, (like always, we are later than late on that) then entering the real life: The round 1 of the 2011 POZZANI GRAND NATIONAL UK CHAMPIONSHIP.

Our goal for this Friday in Oxford: see Jacopo challenging the best shorttrack riders in europe, UK's number 1 Aidan Collins, number 2 Tom Wooley, 2009 Champion Peter Boast, Les Collins, Eddy Kenneth, Steve Plater, and guest riders like Dave Alana (USA), Tyson Nelson (aus) and many more, and see all souls involved in our quest with a big sincere smile in their faces. Monti’s unmistakable style will be, in any case, a guarantee for that smile.

Good job guys!

Stay tuned and follow us if don’t want to miss it!
